Ashlee Simpson Denies Engagement Rumours

Ashlee Simpson has been forced to deny rumours that she is engaged to Fall Out Boy star Pete Wentz.

The singer was spotted wearing a ring on her engagement finger in Miami, where the couple saw in the New Year after spending Christmas at her family home in Texas.

However, Simpson's representative said, “Ashlee is not engaged”, while Wentz’s publicist issued a denial on his behalf to Us Weekly magazine.

Wentz recently dismissed rumours that Simpson's father Joe had banned him from the family's Christmas dinner.
