Pop star Ashlee Simpson has forgiven Avril Lavigne for nasty comments the Canadian made about her singing ability after her infamous lip-synching on US live TV show Saturday Night Live - because she has since apologised.

Simpson reveals she confronted the pop punk at a party and asked her about comments she made suggesting Simpson "didn't deserve" to be on the Snl stage if she relied on backing tapes.

Simpson says, "I won't say anything bad about anyone, even if they talk about me."

"I hung out with Avril once and I said to her, 'Hey, I heard that you said some things,' and she was like, 'Sorry,' and that was cool."

"I'm not in high school and I don't need drama."
